Refugees International's 32nd Anniversary Dinner took place at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium on May 5, 2011 in Washington, DC. We honored diplomat, politician, and humanitarian Governor Bill Richardson with RI's most prestigious award, the McCall-Pierpaoli Humanitarian Award. Wolf Blitzer, CNN lead political anchor, interviewed Gov. Richardson during the dinner program and H.M. Queen Noor presented the award. Kati Marton also presented the inaugural Richard C. Holbrooke Leadership Award to the late Amina Alina for her work in Kenya. Senator Patrick Leahy was honored with the Congressional Leadership Award. The night's festivities were topped off with a rousing performance by Sudanese musician Emmanuel Jal.
