Every so often we'll be bringing you links to some of the things we're working on or reading about here at Refugees International. Occasionally, we may even share things that have made us laugh.

• Last week's passage of the International Violence Against Women Act (I-VAWA) will hopefully lead to lifesaving assistance and the prevention of violence for women around the globe. For more info check out: http://saynotoviolence.org

• Nick Kristof's column a few days ago gave the name and details of a young rape victim, sparking a lot of conversation online about whether or not that sort of thing should be done. Texas in Africa and Nick Kristof both gave good responses.

• United Nations staffers have taken to calling their new digs Bantanamo. A bit much guys, right?

• A great piece on Making Sense of Sudan regarding the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

• Finally, yes everyone it snowed here in Washington. A lot. McClatchy's Shashank Bengali reminds us that D.C. is in fact not the center of the universe.
