To supplement their income, the Mlabri produce a number of handicrafts, including pipes, walking sticks and woven bags, which they sell to tourists. Because even the string is woven and dyed by hand, producing a single bag takes a Mlabri woman almost three months. The bags are sold to tourists for the equivalent of five American dollars. Pipes and walking sticks sell for a dollar or less.
