A group of Sudanese men repair a house that has suffered decay and collapse over the past few rainy seasons. Kakuma Refugee Camp is about ten years old and has more than doubled in population since 1993, creating a housing shortage within the older areas of the camp.  Many of the public service buildings, including the first refugee hospital in Kakuma, were built out of temporary materials, and not expected to be around for ten years.  The damage done to these buildings by the heavy rains can be extensive, but there is no funding for new, more permanent construction.
