09/11/2003

Then there are those who have essentially stayed in their homes but have had to leave many times to avoid fighting, like Ngona. “I fled Bunia at the end of April to Katoto after spending many nights in the fields after the Ugandans left. The militia were looking for us. They shot at the house and stole everything. They broke the TV.I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve moved in the past 2 years. 4-5 times this year. Many more times. Sometimes it may just be moving to the field for a night.” [Notice how the door lock is shot out.]
