Since the host communities in the three border regions are so poor, UNHCR has developed a strategy of limiting direct material assistance to refugees and asylum seekers and instead is focusing on quick impact projects, or small development projects in communities.  These projects, like this potable water tank, benefit both refugees and host communities and aim to aid in the acceptance of refugees.
