While the danger of pirates attacking the humanitarian agencies traveling on Lake Albert has been reduced as of late, delivering aid by water is treacherous in other ways. Refugees International accompanied six boats on this trip to Kafé. One of German Agro-Action’s boats filled with food from the World Food Programme capsized and the load was lost. Other boats in the flotilla rescued the staff onboard and then continued on for an hour to reach the IDP camp of Kafé.
