Cambodia 2005: Remains of a Barricade

07/07/2005

In June the Phnong erected a number of road barricades to protest and obstruct the plantation work. The barricades were taken down when the Cambodian government ordered the plantation work suspended. This photo shows the remains of one such barricade. The Phnong, however, have threatened to re-establish the road blocks if the tree planting work for the pine tree concession goes forward.
