The influx of new people into Gereida camp is straining the limited humanitarian services in the area. Currently, only a few agencies provide health services, clean water supplies and sanitation programs. Insecurity on the road between Gereida and Nyala, the capital of south Darfur 90 kilometers to the north, has made the delivery of humanitarian supplies difficult. Still, the World Food Program plans to deliver more food in the coming weeks and more agencies are expanding their services in the area, which should help ease the situation.
