On a just-completed mission to Sri Lanka, the Refugees International team had the opportunity to monitor the status of small-scale rehabilitation projects for tsunami-damaged schools, projects funded through RI by the town of Hanover, New Hampshire. RI accepted the donation on an exceptional basis and chose two local Sri Lankan organizations to receive the funding: the Office for Eelam Refugee Rehabilitation (OfERR) and Sewa Lanka. RI spent nearly a full day in Batticaloa traveling up and down rural roads in the district visiting the three schools that OfERR chose to support.
