When Lebanon celebrated its anniversary as an independent nation on November 22, a significant number of the country’s inhabitants had good reason to feel left out. While governments the world over are increasing their efforts to tackle the issue of statelessness, the fact that tens of thousands of people living in Lebanon do not have a nationality is still largely ignored.
