Tribal violence in South Sudan has killed more than 2,000 people, and
displaced another 250,000. Refugees International said UN must boost
its peacekeepers’ mandate in Sudan to protect civilians amid fears
political violence could erupt afresh. While UN envoy to Sudan said
last June that death rates in southern Sudan "has been higher than in
Darfur".
