About Us

Partners

Interaction InterAction is the largest alliance of U.S.-based international development and humanitarian nongovernmental organizations. With more than 160 members operating in every developing country, we work to overcome poverty, exclusion and suffering by advancing social justice and basic dignity for all.

The Partnership for Effective Peace Operations The PEP is a non-partisan policy working group that includes nongovernmental organizations, interested individuals, academics, practitioners, and others. The PEP envisions an improved U.N. peace operations capacity, and promotes better public policy and enhanced political will pertaining to peace operations through the following activities: the PEP provides an open forum for discussion of peace operations, serves as an information resource for media, and engages in educational efforts that address peace operations. The PEP is not an advocate for any one particular solution to the problems with peace operations, but is a forum where all potential solutions can be discussed in a candid and ‘outside the box’ atmosphere. Refugees International thanks The Ploughshares Fund for helping to fund this initiative.

The Initiative for Inclusive Security The Initiative for Inclusive Security, including The Women Waging Peace Network, advocates for the full participation of all stakeholders, especially women, in peace processes. Creating sustainable peace is achieved best by a diverse, citizen-driven approach. Of the many sectors of society currently excluded from peace processes, none is larger—or more critical to success—than women.

The Global Partnership for Effective Assistance
The Global Partnership for Effective Assistance is a campaign to save lives and build self-sufficiency by increasing development and humanitarian assistance, improving aid effectiveness, and building international partnerships. In the broadest sense, this campaign aims to help reinvigorate America's role in partnering to build safer, more stable and democratic societies. To that end, we hope to influence the policy debate and raise public awareness about the importance of effective assistance.

The Great Lakes Policy Forum
(on the RI website) The Great Lakes Policy Forum (GLPF) is a strategic coalition of governmental, nongovernmental and multilateral organizations, academics, business leadership, and media professionals with the shared goal of building sustainable peace in the Great Lakes region of Africa. The Council on Foreign Relations, Refugees International, the Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University, and Search for Common Ground co-sponsor monthly meetings of the GLPF.

Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict
The Watchlist is a network of local, regional and international non-governmental organizations working to protect the security and rights of children in armed conflicts. The Watchlist monitors the impact of armed conflict on children, compiles reports about children, including adolescents, and influences programs and policies to improve their lives.
